The Astrolabium Mahogany Quartz Hermle Mantel Clock is constructed with a solid wood base coated in a Mahogany finish, along with polished brass plate and a crystal glass dome. Round clock dial is highlighted with Roman numerals, and features an exquisite precision laser cut center pattern. Highly accurate quartz regulated, the Astrolabium has a month and Zodiac disc along with moving Sun, Moon and Earth balls to keep track of multiple forms of time. Through the visible intricate gear train system, this piece reproduces the annual orbit of the Earth along the sun, and the Moon orbiting around the Earth. Earth rotates around its axis once every 24 hours, and the Moon revolves around the earth every 29 1/2 days, while completing a full rotation around its axis. Throughout the course of one full year, the Earth will pass around each of the twelve Zodiac signs, included with markings for the Months and individual Days indicated on an easy to read brass disc. This piece is highly intricate and precise in the keeping of multiple forms of time and date, and will complete any fireplace mantle or shelf with its information and charm. Easily portable, this piece will fit on any mantle or shelf with at least 8 1/2'' of depth clearance.
