Q: How safe is this
fireplace?
This gel fireplace is very safe to use. The canisters sit in a slot so
that they cannot tip over. You can easily remove the canisters from the slots.
It also has a factory built in screen for maximum safety for children and pets.
Q: Are the Gel Fireplaces
certified and safetied?
The Gel Fireplaces have been tested by Underwriters Laboratories of Canada
(ULC) and have been certified and safetied by Underwriters Laboratories of Canada
according to industry safety standards.
Q: Is my insurance going
to increase with a Gel Fireplace?
Your insurance should not increase. Because they are certified the insurance
company see them as "guarantied to be safe".
Q: How long does a canister
burn for?
A canister holds about 0.5 liter (1 pint) and this burns for about 2 hours.
If you burn 2 canisters at a time you use about 1 liter (2 pints) for about
2 hours of burning time. If you use 3 canisters at a time you burn about 1.5
liters (3 pints) for about 2 hours.
Q: Were can I get the
Firegel when I am out?
Your local dealer has always enough Firegel in stock.
Q: What is Firegel?
Firegel is made from alcohol. Alcohol is very clean burning and environmentally
friendly. Because we use alcohol as a fuel source there are no toxic fumes and
no toxic odours.
Q: How do I turn it
off?
We provide a "snuffer" with the fireplace and you just place it
over top of the canisters and snuff it out. After the cans are cooled down you
can place a lid overtop of the canisters or you leave the snuffer on top of
the canisters. You can relight the remaining Firegel at a later date. Sometimes
you have to put some fresh Firegel on top
Q: Does it heat a room?
Yes it will heat a large room in your house. It will easily heat up a 25'x 25'
room for extra comfort. Because there is no chimney needed it is 100% heat efficient.
Q: Can I place it anywhere
in the house?
Yes you can easily place it along any wall or corner. Absolutely no construction
needed.
Q: How easy are they
to move?
Two people can easily move it. The weight is about 150 lbs. Or put it on a dolly
and wheel it on a moving truck.
Q: Can I buy just the insert and make my own mantel?
Yes you can buy just the insert and make your own mantel.
Q: I have an old brick
fireplace that needs too much repair. Can I just get the fire logs?
Yes you can just buy the 2 fire logs and place them in an old brick fireplace.
You can also put the fire logs in a chimney. We also have a 7 piece fire logs
that can be used for this purpose.
Q: Is there a fan with
the fireplace?
There is no fan with the fireplace. There are no moving parts with this
fireplace.
