• Q: What is an infrared electric fireplace?

  Our infrared electric fireplaces can provide supplemental heat for rooms up to 1,000 square feet in size. It features an infrared heating element which is similar to how the sun provides heat to earth. They are efficient to operate and the heat that is produced is not as dry as your standard central heating system in your home or office.

• Q: Is venting required to operate an electric fireplace?

  No venting is required, our electric fireplaces can safely operate in confined spaces and it does not need to be vented at all.

• Q: Is the fan forced heat quiet during operation?

  The fan/blower is very quiet and not obnoxious during operation.

• Q: Can I plug my electric fireplace into a surge protector?

  No, we recommend that you only operate your electric fireplace by plugging it directly into an electrical outlet in your home. If plugged into a surge protector and or an extension cord, you do risk damaging the electric fireplace as well as your home if the surge protector sparks.

• Q: What is the cost to operate an electric fireplace?

  The average cost to operate an electric fireplace at full heat output with the flame effects on is around 10 cents per hour, this can vary depending on your state and county energy rates.

• Q: Do any of your electric fireplaces provide smoke effects?

  Yes, our Opti-Myst model electric fireplaces have a built in water reservoir that can create the illusion of smoke and fire, it is the most realistic fire effect in the market.

• Q: I'm looking to replace my existing wood fireplace/firebox with an electric fireplace insert. The problem is that the opening to my firebox seems larger than the standard sizes that seem to be sold. And if there aren't any built that will fit in snuggly as-is, do you have any recommendations as to how we can fill the gap between the fireplace insert and the existing brick mantel? Seems like there will be at least a few inch gap at the top of whatever size we get.

  What we would recommend is ordering an electric fireplace insert that is smaller than your fireplace dimension, our customers will normally close off the excess gaps with tiling via granite/marble and or a wood mantel trim that they surround the firebox with. No insert will exactly fit into your existing space and it is very common for our customers to custom trim off the excess space/gaps.
