Yes, you can safely mount and operate a TV above the fireplace without any issues whatsover.
The electric fireplace heater functions via fan forced heat out of the front face of the unit so it will not affect the TV mounted above at all.

The 63" Callaway initially had one side panel that was warped. After contacting the company they send a replacement promptly. Once assembled it looks exactly like it does in the picture. It is a beautiful fireplace. Assembly takes a little time because the mantel, base and right and left pillars are substantial so there are a number of brackets to attach to make it rigid and, of course, safe. The firebox itself drops in so easily that it amazed me actually. I wanted a fireplace with a substantial mantel so I could display a mantel clock, books, small lamps, etc.
