Our 40.94" Chateau White Electric Fireplace will feature a 6' electrical cord - that being said you can ONLY use an extension cord if you plan on using this item without heat.
If you are using it with heat, it does need to plug directly into the wall outlet. If you use the heat function while plugged into an extension cord and or surge protector, it will melt both.

I would describe it as in between, not full blown matte finish but not shiny either. It is a nice finish and very aesthetic.

Is it safe to mount a wall TV above the mantle of this unit?

Yes, you can safely mount a TV above the mantel of this unit without any issues. It features fan forced heat that blows out of the front face of the electric fireplace insert so it will not damage the TV mounted above it at all.

Confirming that this model has a blower on the tip slit of the electric fireplace insert. It will push fan forced heat into the room that it is in.
