The "marble" is not engineered it's just paper. It looks horrible and nothing like the pictures at all. Fireplace pieces have many quality issues and the final assembly has large gaps in many places. Some pieces were also severely damaged and the manufacturer had to send replacements. The firebox is at least very nice. I only wish the speaker didn't beep so loudly (or at all)

I have put together a lot of DIY furniture- bookcases, dressers, toys, chairs, cabinets, etc. Never have I put together a piece as nice as this unit quicker or easier. The engineering precision was exceptional. No tools were needed- I repeat- no tools needed. I was absolutely amazed. Finished product was sturdy and reliable. I do have one suggestion - a minor one but it would eliminate a little flaw. Wrap the edges of the faux marble pieces so that when they are joined together vertically and horizontally, there are no black lines indicating separate pieces. Aside from that, this task was a piece of cake to handle. Thank you for the quality workmanship.

I love my fireplace. I put it together myself and I am 74 years old. It took me a long time because of my age but it worked out. Had a problem with two of the holes. Wouldn’t tighten no matter how long I turned the nutwings but I adapted.

The “engineered marble” staff refer to in the q&a is nothing more than paper over mdf. It is not realistic looking in person and was disappointing when received (esp for this price point). The only positive is the size/heaviness of the mantle and surround, which seems to be constructed of a mix of real wood and mdf. If I knew the marble wasn’t some type of stone, I would have never purchased for this price point. I feel that is very misleading.
